Cheshire Cat’s Mimi Faulks is a graduate in Arts and Education (drama) from Bretton Hall University. She is also a working musician, as well as being a professional Face Painter.

After graduating in 2000, Mimi moved to Manchester and began working with the learning team at Urbis, the centre for Urban Culture. Here she gained fantastic practical experience in devising and delivering fun and creative educational tours and workshops, whilst working with an inspiring team of talented people. She built up her face painting skills alongside this work, training with internationally renowned face painters such as Rosey at ‘Rainbow Faces’ and the Wolfe Bros. U.S.

Mimi’s current work as a freelance artist involves her skills in theatre, music, education, and awesome face painting. Mimi is therefore able to offer a wide variety of multi-arts based workshops, that think outside the box. Some involve face painting and others a variety of skills. Arts establishments that she has recently worked with include Urbis, The Green Room and The Lowry.

"Multi-arts projects are so inspiring and face painting is a fantastic tool for theatre, for fun or for enhancing and bringing gallery exhibitions alive. I enjoy getting involved in unusual projects that push my creative boundaries, the more unusual the better. I like the challenge of tailor making projects that stretch myself and the art-form."

Check out the Diary section for all the creative, multi-arts educational projects that Mimi’s been involved in since 2004.

Some workshops utilise other members of the Cheshire Cats creative team - professional actor and musician, Ben Faulks & professional musician Zosia Berkieta of the 'Rhythm Kitchen' Leeds.
